Sunshine City Prince Hotel — first impression

Pira and I were fully checked into our hotel room by about 5:30 p.m. To say we were exhausted is an understatement. It’s a pretty sad commentary when you have two hard core fujoshi, a block away from Mecca, when it’s all they can do to literally stumble over to Animate and randomly “grab an assortment of manga, doujinshi, and Otaku Crap(tm)*“.

[*Otaku Crap(tm) = character goods, but as time went on, we had to be realistic — WTF does one do with hundreds of shitajiki, notepads, clear files, pins, bookmarks, figures etc.?]

My Blind Grab during Exhaustion -- Animate

That’s my blind grab from Animate, not 4 hours on the ground, while utterly exhausted.

On to the interior of the hotel room, notably the bath room…

Airport

Lining up for the Limo -- all orderly

One of the first things that struck me (apart from the poster of blue cheese that said “decay”) when I deplaned at Narita was how efficient and organized the Japanese were. Little did I realize that this was “shades of things to come”. Everyone is split into one of two categories depending on where in the world you just came from. You either go straight through towards the main customs desks or off to a separate health inspection which they frighteningly (yet apropos) call “Quarantine”.

Getting through all the airport entry stations…

New Blog

After a year of wanting to get this information out there, I’ve finally decided to bite the bullet and use these wonderful new blogs at Yaoi Journal to do just that. I’m still tweaking and fiddling, and I want to add a bit more content before I open it up (so to speak).

I’ll likely keep adding content (mostly via posts as I don’t want to clutter the actual Guide) because, after reviewing my Tokyo pictures the past two days, I’ve realized I have so much more to say about this amazing city and my experiences.

I’m making this blog rather plain looking so that if anyone needs to print off pages, there shouldn’t be any interference from fancy styles, backgrounds etc. Hopefully the photos will be sufficient eyecandy ;-)

And finally, once Yaoi Journal is fully operational, I’ll switch this blog to permit others to add themselves as authors so that they can make posts about their experiences!

That’s all for now.
